Here comes The Sun/ Free Rebus for Parents

Writer: Nanci BradleyNanci Bradley

Early Childhood Rocks is a non-profit with a vision and a heart. You won't find any outside ads in our articles. Just solid information you can use. We have many articles about behavior and many with tried and true activities that work with real children.

We also include articles about self-care because sometimes even the best caregivers forget how important it is to take care of themselves.

Our vision is to create more peace and less bullying in the world through early childhood education. Our mission is to unite early childhood professionals with parents in a quest for quality. If this doesn't happen, high quality care will disappear. That's because so many high quality providers are leaving the field, and smart people are not not going into it. Here's why:

A friend told me recently that she was considering going into early childhood education and was currently working at a child care center. When she visited with her career counselor at the university she was advised not to. Her counsellor said she would never advise a woman of color or anyone else to enter to "field" that doesn't pay enough to support one's self, let alone pay back student loans.

As the prospects for earning a living as a child care provider grow more remote, the child care workforce declines.........one reason is the inability of programs to find qualified staff. -Child Care Aware

Do you have a high quality caregiver or program you'd like to see stay? It's hard to think of what to do as a busy parent but here are a couple of options

Just in case it's been hard for you lately here's something to brighten your day just a little.

Rebus is one of the best teaching methods because it combines music and fun with learning about words and appreciating poetry. It's great for mixed-age groups and encourages working together.

I linked both sheets shown here to a public view doc in Canva, so you should be able to copy and enlarge if you want.
